Swindon’s Old Town is set to sparkle with the inaugural Julia’s House Carols by Candlelight event at Christ Church, promising a festive evening of joy and community spirit.
Scheduled for Wednesday, 13th December, the Carols by Candlelight event is poised to enchant attendees with traditional carols, heartwarming readings from local Julia’s House families and staff, and uplifting performances by the Swindon Choral Society and school choirs from the town.
As attendees soak in the seasonal atmosphere, the event will offer delightful mince pies and mulled wine to elevate the festive experience.
This magical evening is orchestrated by Julia’s House, Wiltshire’s children’s hospice, with the primary goal of raising essential funds for the charity.
Julia’s House plays a vital role in providing care and support for seriously ill children and their families across Swindon and Wiltshire with the charity’s specialist nurses and carers delivering crucial respite, clinical care, and end-of-life support, both in families’ homes and at the vibrant Julia’s House hospice building in Devizes.
Claudia Hickin, Julia’s House Fundraiser, expressed excitement about the upcoming event, stating, “We’re thrilled to be hosting our very first Carols by Candlelight evening in Swindon, and Christ Church will be the most magnificent setting for this special event.”
Following the success of the Big Dog Art Trail earlier this year, Claudia looks forward to celebrating the holiday season with the community and raising essential funds to support local families in need. “We invite everyone to come along and get into the festive spirit by singing their favourite carols and enjoying wonderful performances from local choirs” she said.
The event is made possible through the generous sponsorship of Catalent, a leading global partner to pharmaceutical, biotech, and consumer health companies.
Tickets are priced at £10 per adult, £5 per child, and children under 5 can attend for free. To secure your spot at this event, visit www.juliashouse.org/swindoncarols.
