Swindon’s Designer Outlet in Rodbourne is experiencing a significant change as two well-known retailers announce their imminent closure, albeit one just temporarily.

The Converse store, once bustling with customers searching for the iconic trainers, now finds its shelves bare and the atmosphere filled with a sense of farewell as staff announce to customers that the store is closing.
Next door but one to Converse, Mountain Warehouse, one of the UK’s leading outdoor clothing and equipment retailers, is also preparing to bid adieu to its current location, making way for a new chapter as it plans to relocate elsewhere in the shopping centre.

With the large Converse unit about to become available, it opens up exciting opportunities for a new retailer to make its mark and offer fresh experiences to the Outlet’s visitors.
Similarly, the relocation of Mountain Warehouse leaves another sizeable empty space awaiting its next occupant. Who knows if Starbucks were to relocate it could open up the outlet’s biggest space if they were able to find a retailer to fill it.
Since its opening in 1997, the Swindon McArthurGlen Designer Outlet has grown in popularity and expanded its offerings. It boasts a diverse range of designer and high-street brands, including fashion, accessories, footwear, and homeware, providing shoppers with a wide selection of options to choose from.
Over the years, the Outlet has become an iconic destination, attracting both locals and tourists seeking quality brands at discounted prices. Its unique blend of history, architecture, and retail offerings has contributed to its success and reputation as a leading designer outlet in the region.
