The electrifying ‘Dance Europa!’ team is set to grace the streets of Swindon once again, marking their triumphant return to support the National Day for Rejoin celebrations on 23rd March 2024.
The festivities kick off at 2:30 pm with a vibrant dance celebration outside the Swindon Hubb on The Parade, Swindon SN11BA. Join in the jubilant atmosphere as Dance Europa! captivates audiences with their dynamic performances.
At 3:15 pm, prepare to be mesmerised by a special performance of Dance Europa!’s latest work in progress titled ‘Continental Drift’.
Held upstairs inside The Hub, this captivating piece weaves together ancient myth and topical politics, exploring the profound question: ‘What has Europe ever done for us?!’ Through the lens of the Greek Goddess Europa and her spirited daughter, audiences are invited on a journey that transcends borders and challenges perceptions.
Following the performance, attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the Dance Europa! team and share their thoughts and suggestions about the work over tea or coffee. Admission is free, but donations to support production costs will be greatly appreciated.
The Dance Europa! troupe, representing Swindon for Europe, captured the nation’s attention last year when they went viral on Twitter and graced television screens and national newspapers.
Their spirited medley of European-flavored dances outside Last Night of the Proms and in front of the Houses of Parliament during the Thank-you for the Music and National Rejoin celebrations garnered widespread acclaim.
