A man and woman from Cricklade have been issued with Community Protection Notices (CPNs) following an extended period of anti-social behaviour in the town.
The CPN requires Marc Few, aged 44, and wife Louise, aged 34, to stop entering an address in Parsonage Farm Close, engaging in conduct or encouraging others to engage in conduct which causes harassment, alarm or distress to others in the Parsonage Farm Close area and acting in an anti-social manner anywhere within Cricklade. This includes behaving aggressively, making threats, shouting and swearing.
They must also stop visitors knocking, shouting or causing any disturbance at their own address in Parsonage Farm Close during the hours of 11pm and 7am.
The CPN has been issued after their behaviour was deemed to be having a detrimental effect on the quality of life of others living in the area.
Inspector Mark Luffman said: “This couple have been making threats towards other residents, behaving aggressively, shouting, swearing and banging outside flats in the area.
“Their behaviour has had a negative impact on the community – we originally issued them with a warning notice to stop the anti-social behaviour but as this has continued Wiltshire Police has now issued a CPN. If they fail to comply with the CPN, it could lead to a criminal record and a fine of up to £2,500.
“Those people that engage in anti-social behaviour cause a huge amount of disruption to those around them. I would like to reassure our local communities that we will use all powers available to support the community in tackling these offences, and I would encourage anyone that feels aggrieved by anti-social behaviour to acontact the North Wiltshire Community Policing Team via 101 to report such incidents.
“Hopefully, the measures we’ve taken against this pair will demonstrate our zero tolerance stance on this subject.”
