Crackdown on Drug Supply: Carlon Elwin Receives Nine-Year Sentence

Carlon Elwin, 40, of Galsworthy Close, was sentenced to nine years in custody for his role in supplying substantial quantities of cocaine and cannabis in and around Swindon.

The sentencing, which took place at Swindon Crown Court earlier this week, is part of an enforcement operation targeting organised crime groups operating in the area.

Elwin received five years and three months for the supply of Class B drugs and an additional two years and three months for money laundering offences. These sentences will run concurrently.

Judge Jason Taylor QC, during sentencing, highlighted the damning evidence found on Elwin’s phone, including images of compressed cocaine blocks and large bundles of cash. He remarked, “A picture paints a thousand words,” characterising Elwin’s offences as an escalation from “0 to 100.”

Detective Inspector Dean Garvin from the Serious and Organised Crime Unit said: “Judge Taylor was clear in his view of those criminals that supply drugs on our streets. The Justice system will not tolerate it. If it wasn’t for the fact that he finally pled guilty Mr Elwin would have faced 11 years in prison.

“People are entitled to be safe when they walk the streets of Swindon and my plan is to put more organised criminals before our Judges in support of that.

The financial investigation team and civil courts will now pursue every asset and penny belonging to Mr. Elwin.
