#CovidKindnessSwindon: Button appeal for face mask ear savers

Swindonians are doing anything they can to get people smiling again in the midst of the coronavirus outbreak.

We have the Rockathon raising funds for Brighter Futures, a local man using his 3d printer to make face guards for the NHS and now we have an appeal to help assist a Swindon lady into making ear savers for the frontline workers having to wear their masks for long shift.

Wendy McLean, from Taw Hill, is running short of buttons which she is using to make fabric ear savers.

Your Holiday Starts Now

What are they? Well, turns out it can hurt your ears to wear a mask all the time.

No photo description available.

Thankfully, doctors and nurses can relieve the pressure by hooking their mask elastics to one of Wendy’s ear savers instead of their actual ears.

Any button will need to be at least 1.5cm diameter but around 2 – 3 cm is best.

If you are able to help Wendy with a supply of buttons, please reach out to her on her Facebook page.

Now it’s your turn
