Swindon residents will once again have the chance to meet councillors and officers face-to-face at the next ‘Let’s talk Swindon’ engagement event this autumn.
The session takes place on Saturday, 4 October at the Civic Offices and runs between 11am and 4.30pm. The day is split into three 90-minute slots, giving people flexibility to book a time that suits them.
The event will give an update on the progress of the Swindon Plan and the council’s ongoing work to deliver what it calls “a better, fairer and greener Swindon.” As well as hearing directly from Council Leader Cllr Jim Robbins and Chief Executive Sam Mowbray, residents will be able to chat with officers about services and raise issues that matter to them.
Cllr Robbins said the format had already proved successful:
“We’ve had really positive conversations with local people at our previous events and we’re keen to keep that going. This is a great opportunity for residents to help shape the future of the town, tell us what’s working, and highlight what’s most important to them.”
He added that hosting the event on a weekend should make it easier for more people to attend, with plans also being made for an evening session to widen access further.
As well as engaging with council staff, attendees will be able to take a look around the Civic Campus, including a visit to the museum.
The three bookable slots are:
-
11am – 12.30pm
-
1pm – 2.30pm
-
3pm – 4.30pm
