Could you be a secret millionaire?

Records released by the UK Treasury department have revealed over forty unclaimed estate linked to the Swindon area which could potentially mean there is millions of pounds of unclaimed inheritance.

When people die without making a will, all of their belongings are left behind in their ‘estate’. This includes money, property, businesses and even cars and could range in value from very little to potentially millions.

If the estate is left unclaimed for a period of thirty years the value will disappear into government accounts.

New entries are made to the list on a daily basis and as of today (9th October 2017) there are 42 estates with links back to Swindon that remain unclaimed including one with just nineteen months left for a successful claim to be made before the value is lost into government accounts. This is due to a time limit of thirty years after a persons death for an estate to be claimed.

If you believe you are able to make a claim you may want to take a look at the Treasury guide on how to Make a claim to a deceased person’s estate

Here are the people who have died, their date and place of birth and date of death.

If you recognise their name it might be worth doing some detective work to see if you are entitled to claim their estate.
