A range of organisations will unite in five locations across Swindon throughout June to assist residents who are struggling with their finances.
Organisations such as Citizens Advice Swindon, Warm and Safe Wiltshire, and Swindon Borough Council will be present at several special roadshows organised by the Council.
Their aim is to offer advice and support to individuals regarding the cost of living. The events will be held from 10.30 am to 2 pm at the following locations:
- Tuesday, 6 June – Park Library, Cavendish Square, Park, Swindon, SN3 2LZ
- Thursday, 8 June – Central Library, Regent Circus, Swindon, SN1 1QG
- Tuesday, 13 June – West Swindon Library, Link Centre, Whitehill Way, Swindon, SN5 7DL
- Tuesday, 20 June – Everleigh Centre, Everleigh Road, Penhill, Swindon, SN2 5HB
- Thursday, 22 June – Highworth Library, Brewery Street (above the Co-op supermarket), Highworth, Swindon, SN6 7AJ
Swindon residents will receive expert advice and guidance on several key issues that may be affecting their lives. These include reducing debt, maximising income, and tips for creating healthy meals on a budget.
Warm and Safe Wiltshire and the Centre for Sustainable Energy will also be available to help people find ways to save energy and provide tips for preparing their homes for the upcoming winter.
Citizens Advice Swindon will have their Advice and Financial First Aiders present to guide individuals on how they can reduce expenses or increase their income.
Other organisations, such as Thames Water, Kooth, the Feeding Swindon Partnership, Healthwatch, and The Wonky Veg Club, will also be in attendance.
Councillor Jim Grant, Swindon Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Communities & Joint Working, said, “There will be so much advice on offer, so we would encourage people in the local area to attend one of the roadshows.
“We’ve teamed up with a range of local organisations and charities, so you’ll be able to receive great advice, regardless of your situation.”
If you are unable to attend a roadshow, please visit the dedicated cost of living web page at www.swindon.gov.uk/costofliving. There, you can find a list of available support to help you or someone you know with the cost of living.
