Coronavirus: Germany ban gatherings of more than TWO people in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus

German have this afternoon issued a ban on more than two people meeting, unless they are members of the same family.

Authorities say such a ban makes more sense than locking people in their homes.

“No one wants to stand before the people and discuss such rules,” Angela Merkel said.

During the meeting, North Rhine-Westphalia leader Armin Laschet said there will fines of up to €25,000 ($27,000) for those breaking the rules.

The measures will be enforced by police and other law enforcement and remain in place until April 19th.

With many people throughout the UK ignoring government advise this weekend on social distancing, instead heading outside in groups to enjoy the first day of sunshine we have had for a while, how long until Boris Johnson follows Germany’s lead?
