The first Covid-19 death in Swindon has been confirmed this afternoon.
A spokesperson for the Great Western Hospitals NHS Trust said:
“Sadly, we can confirm that a man who was being cared for at Great Western Hospital, and had tested positive for COVID-19, has died.
“The patient, who died on 19 March, was in his 80s, had underlying health conditions.
“His family has been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time.”

My heart goes out to his family and friends in this difficult time R.I.P ♥️….how ever this man was also at a hospital in Marlborough and Nhs staff where notified by his family and not from the hospital….this has got to be gross negligence on the highest degree and the hospital in Marlborough is keeping this information to themselves and have not acted on this information at all …..also gross negligence I feel .my partner work’s on the ward in Marlborough where this unfortunate gentleman stayed whilst he was there! and all this information has been kept secret from the public……criminal negligence on a massive scale !…….how is this at all possible in these sad times …….I am prepared to whistle blow for public safety as they are still admitting patients.
