October is Stoptober, the perfect time to take a stand against smoking and embark on a journey to better health.
The Council are fully committed to helping residents kick the habit and lead healthier lives, and this was reaffirmed recently with the re-signing of the Local Government Declaration on Tobacco Control.
An in-house specialist Stop Smoking Adviser is offering drop-in sessions for anyone looking for advice and support with quitting. The service has helped 120 people in the past year and of those, 54 have successfully quit for good.
No appointment is necessary, you can just drop in during clinic hours every Wednesday, from 9.30am to 10.30am and 2pm to 4pm at Sanford House on College Street, SN1 1HE.
It’s time to make a positive change for yourself and your health this Stoptober. More details on the support there is available can be found here.
