Co-op launch home delivery service for vulnerable people

The Midcounties Co-operative have introduced a new home delivery service for vulnerable people who are self-isolating and can’t get out to shop for food.

The service offers a delivery to homes within three miles of their local Co-op store.

Phil Ponsonby, Chief Executive of Co-op Midcounties, said: “Our colleagues have been working tirelessly with local community groups to identify vulnerable households that need help with their shopping, and I’m delighted we’ve been able to have such a positive impact.

Your Holiday Starts Now

Anyone looking to use the new service is asked to call the membership team on 0800 435 902 where the order will be taken from a food essentials shopping list below.

Once the order has been taken your local store will call to confirm what items are available, take payment and arrange delivery.

The order will be delivered to your door by a local volunteers free of charge.

If you know someone who would benefit from this service, they can check they live within three miles of a Co-op store here.

If they prefer, they can email member.communications@midcounties.coop and someone will call them back.
