Community police officers are continuing to tackle county lines this week following on from the arrest of 61 individuals during Operation Samphire.
Operation Samphire ran last week and involved officers from departments across the Force working together to tackle county lines drugs gangs in Swindon. In total, 61 people were arrested over five days during raids and proactive patrols.
On the back of this work, officers have obtained a partial closure order for an address in London Street, Railway Village.
The order was granted yesterday by Swindon Magistrates.
It means that anyone other than the resident or those listed on the notice are prevented from entering the property. By doing so, they may be committing an offence and may be arrested.
Sgt James Neighbour said: “Closure orders of this nature are sought for properties where there have been reports of continued drug activity. It is hoped that by putting these orders in place, the resident will be protected from further exploitation and criminal activity.
“Operation Samphire was a huge success and I’d like to reassure the community that officers are continuing to follow up community concerns and intelligence gleaned from this operation. We are keen to keep the momentum going and will continue to ensure Swindon remains a hostile environment for those causing harm to our community through drug dealing.”
If you suspect drug activity in your neighbourhood, please report it by calling 101.
