Citizens Advice Introduces New Drop-in Sessions

Citizens Advice has set up new walk-in sessions for anyone in urgent need of help.

Their Advice and Financial First Aiders have saved 190 Swindon residents £2,311 on average per year by maximising income or increasing the amount people can receive through benefits.

Any resident in the Swindon area will be able to ‘walk-in’ without an appointment during the sessions in order to meet with an advisor if they are in need of help.

Your Holiday Starts Now

Nationally, Citizens Advice has over 20,000 volunteers and estimates that it helps around 2.5 million people in England each and every year.

The walk-in sessions will be at:

  • Today (15 July) at the International Food Festival at STEAM (SN2 2TA), from 11am to 4pm
  • Tomorrow, 16 July at the Family Fun Day at St Marks Park (SN2 1BZ), from 11am to 3pm
  • Monday, 17 July at Gorse Hill Baptist Church (SN2 1AA), from 11am to 1.30pm
  • Tuesday, 25 July at Park Library, Cavendish Square (SN3 2LZ), from 10am to 12pm
  • Monday, 31 July at West Swindon Library (SN5 7DL), from 10am to 12pm

Citizens Advice believes everyone deserves access to independent, free advice to help them deal with life’s problems and challenges and you can help them do that.

Volunteers are at the heart of how the work is done at the Citizens Advice service, whether it’s:

  • helping people online,
  • over the phone,
  • or in person
  • raising funds
  • researching and campaigning for policy change
  • helping witnesses in court in our Witness Service
  • helping the service to run smoothly in our admin and customer service roles
  • as a trustee
