November and December are the busiest online shopping months of the year. They’re also the busiest time for online fraudsters.
Wiltshire Police are working in collaboration with Get Safe Online to launch a live public facing event this weekend to make Wiltshire communities aware of seasonal scams and provide tips on how to protect you whilst shopping online.
Wiltshire Police would like to invite you to Swindon’s Brunel Centre between 10am and 4pm this Saturday 25th November where a team of experts will be at hand to answer any questions you may have and provide up to date information and advice.
There will be a Formula One simulator where you can attempt the fastest lap of the day in exchange for a prize.
Cyber Crime Prevention Officer Lee Stripe says, “One of our core priorities is to reduce the number of victims of cybercrime by ensuring the public are aware of the risks, can take steps to protect themselves and know where they can get help if they fall victim to cybercrime.
