The NHS is reminding Swindon residents where they are able to access expert medical treatment to help them stay well during the Christmas holidays.
With most GP Surgeries closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, patients can visit their local pharmacist for quick, confidential advice on a range of common illnesses.
Many pharmacies will be open for their normal hours on every day through the holidays except for the bank holidays.
If people need medical help urgently, NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Simply call 111 from your landline or mobile to access advice and help to contact the local GP out of hour’s service.
Please remember that the Accident and Emergency at Great Western Hospital should not be used unless it is for critical or life threatening illness or injury.
