Millions of people in the UK currently claim Child Benefit, and from April, the amount people get paid is changing.
The means-tested benefit benefit, paid to anyone with an income below £50,000, is paid every four weeks, either on a Monday or a Tuesday, and there is no limit to how many children a parent or guardian can claim for.
Child Benefit can be claimed for any child below 16 or under 20 if they stay in approved education or training.
HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) recently confirmed changes to Child Benefit and Guardian’s Allowance payments from April 11th 2022.
The weekly increase will be 65p for an eldest or only child and 45p for any additional children.
Over the next financial year, this means parents will receive an additional £33.80 or £23.40.
