Embrace the spirit of remembrance this Christmas season by participating in Prospect Hospice’s cherished tradition, the ‘Light Up a Life’ service.
For over two decades, this poignant event has provided solace to those navigating the challenges of loss during the festive period.

Recognising the difficulties faced by many during this time, the ‘Light Up a Life’ service offers a comforting space for reflection and a collective tribute to those who have left an indelible mark on our lives.
To ensure inclusion in the hospice’s Book of Remembrance, individuals keen on joining this heartfelt remembrance should secure their place and submit dedications by Friday, 17th November with the special remembrance services scheduled for Sunday, 3rd December, at 2:30 pm and 4 pm at Christ Church, Old Town, Swindon.
Last year’s gathering saw over 400 individuals coming together to share their stories, commemorate their loved ones, and find solace in the collective embrace of the community. Jacqui Gullis, Clinical Lead – Therapy Services at Prospect Hospice, expressed, “Our Light Up a Life appeal, embraced warmly by the local community every Christmas, provides a meaningful space to honour and express gratitude for the lives that will forever reside in our hearts and memories.”
Participation in hospice care is not a prerequisite for attending these services. The illuminated lanterns serve as poignant reminders of those cherished individuals, representing lives that are profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
The hospice encourages donations in memory of loved ones, accompanying the submission of names and heartfelt messages for the Book of Remembrance. These contributions play a vital role in sustaining the hospice’s mission to provide end-of-life care and support for the bereaved.
