Restaurant chain Carluccio’s, with a store at the Great Western Outlet, are set to call in the administrators, putting around 2,000 jobs at risk.
Carluccio’s was founded by Italian chef Antonio Carluccio in 1999 and is now owned by Dubai-based Landmark Group, which bought the business for £90 million in 2010.
Back in 2018 the company closed 34 of its restaurants under a Company’s Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) restructuring deal in a bid to secure its future.
A spokesperson for their advisers FRP Advisory said: “We are working with the directors of Carluccio’s to consider all options for the company in the current climate.”
This is not great news for Swindon’s restaurant scene as Chiquito’s earlier announced they would be entering administration and unlikely to reopen after the coronavirus shutdown.
