A cannabis farm has been uncovered in Swindon following a tip-off from a member of the public.
Officers attended a property on Homington Avenue, Badbury Park, yesterday morning after receiving intelligence from the community. Upon arrival, they found that the plants—estimated to be around 100—had already been harvested, leaving the property unsecured.
Enquiries are now ongoing to track down those responsible for the illegal operation.
Acting PS Stevenson of the Swindon North, East and Rural Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This incident highlights the importance of reporting suspicious activity to us, especially unusual comings and goings from a property.
“It is often the case that we only discover these cannabis farms because of reports from vigilant members of the public.
“I’d like to thank the individual who alerted us, and we are now working hard to identify those involved.
“If you suspect a property near you may be involved in illegal activity, please report it to us on 101 or via our website.
“You can also report it anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.”
