Construction work has started at a new 1,700 home residential development in Swindon.
Bellway’s South West division has started work on their third development of new homes in the town on land off Tadpole Lane with other sites at Liberty Park, off Headlands Grove and Westlea Rise off Chelmsford Road.
The first phase will see 94 three and four bedroom homes built on the development that will eventually see 1,700 homes built.
The Tadpole Garden Village plans include a new primary school, a community centre, a public house, allotments, a nature park, children’s play areas and a number of open spaces.
A sales centre and show home will be opened in 2017.
Tim Lund, sales manager for Bellway’s South West division, said: “We’re delighted to be building new homes at Tadpole Garden Village, and happy to be once again providing new homes in Swindon.”
“This will become our third development in the town since we opened for business last year, and we’ve experienced some good success at our previous sites here.”
