A bus operated by Swindon’s Bus Company, formerly Thamesdown Transport has demolished a bus shelter on Fleming Way after failing to stop.
A number of eyewitnesses have commented to say the bus made no attempt to slow down on its approach to the bus stop so the driver may have been injured or unconscious.
The accident is believed to have happened at just after 6pm yesterday evening.
The bus shelter at the Fleet Street end of Fleming Way appeared to have no passengers waiting so no injuries were caused as a result of the accident.
