Nationally recognised law firm Buckles, which has an office in Swindon, is celebrating a triumphant year as it reports its highest-ever annual revenue of £17.4M at the close of the financial year in March 2024, an impressive 17.7% increase compared to the previous record-breaking year.
The remarkable achievement is attributed to a combination of factors, including organic growth from significant new client acquisitions in the banking sector and the expansion of new teams in offices located in Bristol and Swindon in October.
Speaking about the success Duncan Jackson, Chief Executive of Buckles, said, “Given an industry average growth of 6.8%, delivering almost 11% above that figure shows what an exceptional year our teams have delivered. Our performance is ahead of expectations and this has been the single biggest year-on-year jump in revenue the firm has reported.
“We recognise we still have work to do to achieve wider recognition of the talented team we have assembled for its technical excellence, market leading client care and ability to create and maintain the long-term client relationships that have driven this growth. But progress is good.
“Acquiring new teams in Bristol and Swindon, the team in Nottingham outgrowing their existing offices and major hires, such as Phillippa O’Neill, Ben Fox and Sharon Sherriff, demonstrate the strength of our offering is attracting not only good clients, but talented legal professionals too.
“The year ahead will again see us identify and recruit partner-level lateral hires that move us forward in our chosen sectors, but always with an eye for opportunities to deliver rapid growth, such as we successfully managed this past year.”
Over the span of six years since implementing the strategic growth plan, the firm’s senior management has steered an assertive yet focused growth approach across all sectors, resulting in a doubling of revenue and an expansion of the headcount to over 230 employees.
Colleen Gostick, Buckles Chairman, concludes, “Our strategic plan continuously evolves to align with the evolving needs of our clients. This past year, we introduced our client onboarding team and fine-tuned the rollout of a new practice management system, both aimed at enhancing the client engagement process.
“To progress, one must sometimes take lateral or backward steps, but our unwavering commitment to prioritising our clients’ needs in every decision we make ensures we continue to attract repeat business and positive feedback, fueling Buckles’ rapid and robust growth.”
