Buckingham Palace Confirm King Charles III Diagnosed With Cancer

Buckingham Palace announced today that King Charles III has been diagnosed with a form of cancer. The diagnosis came to light during his recent treatment for an enlarged prostate, although it has been clarified that it is not prostate cancer.

The palace, in a statement, did not disclose the specific type of cancer but confirmed that the King has initiated “regular treatments” as of Monday.

Despite the challenges posed by the diagnosis, Buckingham Palace emphasised that King Charles III remains optimistic about his treatment and eagerly anticipates a return to his full public duties at the earliest opportunity.

To prioritise his health, the King has decided to postpone his public engagements. It is expected that other senior members of the royal family will step in to fulfill his duties during this period of treatment. However, the statement provided no further details regarding the stage of the cancer or any prognosis.

At 75 years old, King Charles III, while pausing public events, is committed to maintaining his constitutional role as the head of state. His dedication to service was evident as he was seen waving to crowds at a church service in Sandringham on Sunday, just days after undergoing a prostate procedure at a private London hospital.

The King’s decision to publicly share details about his prostate treatment was aimed at encouraging more men to undergo prostate checks, according to the palace. Despite the challenging circumstances, he expressed delight at the opportunity to raise awareness about this important health issue.
