Boris Johnson has this afternoon lead the Downing Street press conference, his first since recovering from coronavirus.
The Prime Minister confirmed the total number of deaths in the UK has now reached 26,711.
“We grieve for them and with them, but as we grieve we are strengthened in our resolve to defeat the virus” he says.
After confirming the UK is ‘past the peak’ he then advised his plan to kick-start the economy and reopen schools will be set out next week.
