Swindon residents have reportedly been sent a number of scam emails in relation to Covid-19 vaccinations.
The scam email includes a link to “register” for the vaccine, however no registration for the real vaccination is required.
The scam email states: “As part of the government’s coordinated response to coronavirus, NHS is performing selections for coronavirus vaccination on the basis of family genetics and medical history
You have been selected to receive a coronavirus vaccination.”
By clicking the link to accept the appointment, you will be taken to another page and asked for personal details, including their mother’s maiden name before being taken to another page asking for payment details.
The COVID-19 vaccine is free of charge on the NHS.
We will never ask for:
❌ your bank account or card details
❌ your pin or banking password
❌ copies of personal documents to prove your identity such as your passport, driving licence, bills or pay slips. pic.twitter.com/fZtLhBAMCp
