Swindon bus driver Kyle Caswell has been heralded as a hero for helping a woman and her children flee domestic abuse.
Kyle has been awarded with a ‘Best In Town’ certificate for his quick-thinking action.
When Kyle was preparing to finish a recent shift a distressed woman and three children tried to get on his bus and said they needed to get away from the area.
Sensing something was wrong, Kyle agreed to let her on, taking her to the last stop on his route.

After speaking to the woman and learning she was escaping domestic abuse he decided he couldn’t leave her on her own.
After making a call to his supervisor to explain, he decided to go off-route and take his vulnerable passengers to a family member’s house where they’d be safe.
Days later Kyle received a message from his boss asking to go and see him. “He told me that a family member of the woman I had helped had contacted the company to thank me for what I’d done.”
Since his award win was made public, the woman Kyle helped has found him on Facebook and sent him a message to say she would forever be grateful for what he did.
