A man aged in his 40s was the victim of an attempted robbery in Swindon last week and Wiltshire Police are appealing for information from the public.
The victim was walking along Frobisher Drive at approximately 4pm on 16 October when he noticed he was being followed by a group of four or five people.
The victim was listening to music on his mobile phone at the time, when one member of the group knocked his phone out of his hand from behind, causing it to fall to the ground. The group attempted to steal the phone but the man was able to grab it quickly.
When the man began to call police, the group surrounded him, and pushed him a number of times before running off.
Fortunately, the man was not injured.
PC Kayne Borresen said: “The group are believed to have been aged between 16 and 18. They are all white, and of medium build with short hair.
“I am keen to hear from anyone who was walking or driving in the area around this time – it was around 4pm so it would have been daylight.
“Anyone with information should get in touch – call 101 and quote crime reference number 54180098171.”
Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
