The Arkell’s Outdoor Christmas Market is back and you are invited to ‘Come on in’ and enjoy the festive- filled fun.
This Saturday, 10th December, sees the Christmas market return to the grounds of the Kingsdown Brewery from 10am to 2pm offering a unique opportunity to get inside the gates and enjoy the historic local site whilst browsing for gifts and goodies for loved ones.
Over 40 local and regional food and craftspeople will be selling their wares including jewellery, cakes, fudge, candles, chutneys and pet treats; something to cater for every member of the family.
Events Co-Ordinator, Lesley Dicks said: “So many people wonder what is beyond the brewery gates and this is a perfect opportunity to come and see this notorious building in the town.
“The brewery is a magical place at Christmas, the tree is up and the site is always full of a buzz and joy on the day of the market. When we hear that the children and their families have had such a lovely time, we invariably do it all over again, so please come and see us all on Saturday.”
Whilst absorbing the festive atmosphere, shoppers will be treated to the joyful singing of local choir ‘The Songbirds’, as well as music from ‘The Oompah Band’.
Visitors can also expect to find traders selling mouth-watering treats such as bratwurst sausages, pizza and Greek food, along with hand-warming drinks, fragrant mulled wine and Arkell’s seasonal favourite, Sir Noel Ale.
Santa will be making an appearance between 10.30am-12pm and 1.00pm-2.00pm with no need to book – just pay on the day.
“We love having the opportunity to welcome our local community through the gates of the brewery” said Alex Arkell. “It’s wonderful to see everyone getting into the festive spirit in the run up to Christmas.”
Admission to the market is free and parking on site is available, although limited, so walking is encouraged if you are able to.
The Stagecoach number 10 bus also runs from Swindon Town Centre to Kingsdown.
