Police are appealing for information following an incident in Purton at the weekend.
At approximately 5pm on Sunday January 8th, two teenage boys were seen entering an insecure vehicle in the Ridgeway Farm estate.
The owner of the vehicle confronted the pair and was able to detain one of the boys until police arrived.
A 15-year-old boy from Swindon was arrested on suspicion of attempted theft of a motor vehicle and common assault.
He has been released on bail to confer with the Youth Offending Team.
The second male made off from the scene.
The boy police would like to speak with is described as being age approximately 15, with blonde, chin length hair.
