Police are appealing for witnesses following a violent break-in at a property in Blunsdon St Andrew, Swindon, during the early hours of 30th October.
Just after midnight, the occupants of a house in Batsford Crescent were left shaken when three of four masked individuals smashed a glass door with a crowbar and entered the property. The group, dressed entirely in black with their faces covered, proceeded to search the kitchen before using a large knife to threaten the residents.
The intruders then fled the scene in what is believed to be a white estate car with a black roof.
Police officers were quickly on the scene, deploying a search operation that included a police dog unit and the National Police Air Service (NPAS) helicopter. House-to-house enquiries were conducted, and CCTV footage is being reviewed as part of the ongoing investigation.
The group is described as one adult accompanied by three younger individuals. No arrests have been made at this stage.
Detectives are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward.
A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the occupants, and we are determined to identify those responsible. We ask anyone with information, no matter how small, to get in touch.”
