Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old was assaulted and had his mountain bike stolen during a robbery in Swindon.
It happened at around 3pm on Wednesday 5 December 2018 when the victim was cycling through Eldene, in an alleyway between Stubsmead and Bowleymead.
He was approached by another teenager who punched him in the face and pulled him off his bike, before kicking him while he was lying on the floor.
The suspect then fled the scene on the Voodoo Ganzo mountain bike, which was grey with red detail.
Two passers-by, a man and a woman, stopped and helped the victim, walking him back to his friend’s house to make sure he was safe.
A 15-year-old boy from Swindon has been arrested in connection with this incident and has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
PC Alexander Pawlowski, from Swindon South Community Policing Team, said: “I would like to thank these two people who went out of their way to help the young boy who had been injured in this incident.
“We now need to speak to them as they could be crucial witnesses. Please could this couple, or anyone else who has information, contact police and assist with our investigation.”
Anyone with information should call PC Pawlowski on 101, quoting crime reference 54180115349. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
