Specialist tool protection and insurance company ARMD and the Independent Builders Merchant Group (IBMG), which includes Grant & Stone, have formed a partnership to support local tradespeople in safeguarding their tools against the devastating impact of theft.
Through this collaboration, customers of Grant & Stone will have access to ARMD’s comprehensive packages, encompassing smart van alarms, trackers, and dedicated insurance. These solutions offer proactive measures to prevent theft and ensure swift recovery in the unfortunate event of tool loss.
Duncan Jackson, Chief Commercial Officer of ARMD, expressed his satisfaction with the partnership, stating, “We are pleased to collaborate with Grant & Stone and the entire IBMG family. Tool theft significantly affects tradespeople, with as many as 78% falling victim to such incidents. Together, we are committed to safeguarding their livelihoods by offering affordable solutions that effectively deter theft and provide prompt reimbursement when needed.”
Ollie Leivers, branch manager at Grant & Stone electrical wholesalers in Swindon, acknowledged the detrimental impact of tool theft on tradespeople and highlighted the value of their partnership with ARMD in mitigating this risk. He explained, “We understand the profound consequences of tool theft for tradespeople, and our collaboration with ARMD enables us to offer an affordable product that helps mitigate this risk. With exclusive discounts available to Grant & Stone customers, we aim to provide hard-working local tradespeople with enhanced protection at an accessible price point.”
The recently launched ARMD GUARD, a “plug and play” smart van alarm and tracker, offers discreet monitoring of tools. In the event of a break-in, the alarm triggers a phone notification, allowing tradespeople to take immediate action by contacting the authorities and potentially catching thieves in the act. Additionally, the built-in GPS enables real-time tracking of the van if it is stolen.
The ARMD GUARD seamlessly integrates with the ARMD App, which includes a tool inventory feature enabling tradespeople to keep a record of their tools’ value. The app also provides comprehensive functionalities such as van security, insurance, and tool and van location tracking, consolidating all aspects of protection in one user-friendly platform. Together, these measures provide an advanced layer of security for tradespeople, safeguarding their livelihoods.
