Aldi have started to ease their temporary restrictions to limit the number of items shoppers can purchase.
The limit of four of any item was implemented to prevent stockpiling among shoppers, ensuring everyone could access what they needed during the UK’s coronavirus lockdown period.
From this morning, only the following restrictions will apply across all UK stores.
Four per customer:
- Antibacterial wipes
- Hand wash and soap
- Shower gel
- Bleach
- Toilet tissue, kitchen towel, tissues
- Nappies
- Pasta
- Canned tomatoes, canned beans and sausages
- Part baked bread
- Beers, wines and spirits
The following products will be limited to two per customer:
- Antibacterial hand gel
- UHT milk
- Baby formula
Despite increased productivity in their stores, Aldi have also encouraged people to buy only what they need, a move that will continue to make it easier for people to shop for vulnerable people and those who are self-isolating.
