A419 junction at White Hart now open

Drivers wishing to travel north onto the A419 from the White Hart junction can now use the brand-new northbound slip road which has just been opened to traffic for the first time.

A new bridge over the railway line was built to accommodate the new slip-road.

Swindon Borough Council have also added extra capacity at the junction with slip-roads being widened to reduce congestion at peak times and additional lanes being added to the roundabout.

Traffic signals have also been added to the roundabout to regulate the flow of traffic.

These are expected to be switched on once the A420 surfacing works are complete, as part of the Gablecross junction scheme. Lane closures will remain on White Hart roundabout until the traffic signals are switched on.

The Merlin Way slip-road has also now been closed permanently.
