Boris Johnson has confirmed that GCSE and A-Level exams planned for May and June will not go ahead as planned and will be rescheduled for another time.
This announcement came after Education Secretary Gavin Williamson announced all schools in England would close from Friday to follow on from earlier announcements from Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
There will be a skeleton staff operation in place so that children of key workers can still be looked after whilst their parents to continue to work.
Examples of these key workers include NHS staff, police and delivery drivers who need to be able to go to work.
Vulnerable children include those who have a social worker and those with educational health and care plans.
