When do the clocks go back in October 2020?

Shorter days will be upon us next week as British Summer Time comes to an end with the clocks go back on Sunday 25th October.

The change will give Swindonian’s an extra hour in bed at the weekend but will also see the return of shorter days and longer nights as winter sets in.

It is understood that the Government is looking at plans at scrapping the October clock change however no concrete plans have been released as yet.

When do the clocks go back?
The clocks change twice a year. Once in March when they go forward by an hour, and once on the last Sunday of October, when they go back by an hour.

Brits will gain that hour at 2am on Sunday, October 25th, as they return to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) – the standard time zone against which all others are set.

Most smartphones, computers, and other devices connected to the internet, normally update the time automatically.

But analogue watches or clocks will need to be manually reset.

When will the clocks go forward again?
The clocks go forward again on Sunday, March 28th 2021.
