Swindon Social Enterprise Network (SSEN) will hold it’s second “networking” meeting on Wednesday 13th March in Metro Bank, Swindon. A local Community Interest Company: Disability Experts will be talking about their journey as a social enterprise and representatives from the mental health Charitable Incorporated Organisation; IPSUM will talk about their services and plans to trade to financially support their services.
The event will commence at 4.30pm with an opportunity to mingle with other attendees over tea/coffee/juice and cake. At 5pm a formal welcome, introduction to the event and update about the SSEN’s work will be delivered by a member of the steering group.Martin Kelley of Disability Expertswill then talk about the journey that lead him to set up a social enterprise to support people living with disabilities make the most of their opportunities and life and answer questions afterwards.
Martin will then hand over to Julie Mattinson & Barbra Pike from IPSUM who will talk about their pioneering work around helping those with mental health issues and their plans to start trading as a social enterprise to provide an income stream. The event will finish with a further opportunity to network and informally talk to Martin, Julie, Barbaraand members of the SSEN steering group closing at around 6-6.15pm.
