Proposals for the development of Lotmead Villages, Wanborough, as part of the New Eastern Villages will go on public display on Wednesday 28 November.
The New Eastern Villages is currently the UK’s largest urban expansion project. Since the last consultation on the Lotmead Villages site, Swindon Borough Council has adopted its Local Plan, and a number of planning proposals have come forward on land within the New Eastern Villages.
Swindon Borough Council has adopted a number of Supplementary Planning Documents which set out a vision for the proposed development at New Eastern Villages, to make sure that a co-ordinated approach is applied across the full extent of the urban expansion, and that the Villages are supported by the necessary infrastructure.
ASL, the development company promoting Lotmead Villages for development, and its team have liaised closely with Swindon Borough Council to discuss the evolution of the proposed Masterplan for Lotmead Villages.
The Lotmead Villages proposals comprise around 2,600 homes, two primary schools, two village centres, a sports hub including a site wide network of open space and associated infrastructure on land around Lotmead Farm.
ASL’s Planning Director, John Brooks, said, “The development of the New Eastern Villages is very important in enabling the future growth and prosperity of Swindon. We hope that many residents and representatives of local businesses will join us, and take the time to talk with the team members at the exhibition, ask them questions and complete a feedback form to let us know their comments.
“The feedback we receive on the proposals for the new Lotmead Villages is important to us and will influence the outline planning application we will be submitting.”
The public exhibition is being held at Hooper’s Field, Wanborough SN4 0AN on Wednesday 28thNovember between 3pm and 7.30pm.
