Around 4.45pm on Friday 29 June, a woman in her 60’s was crossing Rodbourne Road by the Premier Store when she was approached by another woman who grabbed a £10 note she had in her hand, having just withdrawn it from a nearby ATM.
As the victim tried to get the money back she was pushed to the floor by the woman; although shaken the victim was not injured.
PC Ben Moore said, “This was a deplorable attack on a vulnerable woman who has to walk with a crutch due to disability. It was carried out in broad daylight with numerous members of the public driving and walking past – someone must have seen something – if that was you please contact me.
“I am particularly interested in speaking to two good samaritans who stopped to help the victim back to her feet.”
