To celebrate the Forestry Commission’s centenary year, Westonbirt Arboretum is planning a very special summer trail celebrating the Arboretum’s human history.
The Arboretum is now asking members of the local community to send in photos of themselves, friends and family at Westonbirt, that conjure happy memories or interesting stories.
Perhaps you have a photo of your grandmother working in Silk Wood with the land girls during the First World War, or a memorable family picnic taken when you were a child? Or perhaps photos of children and grandchildren on their first outing to the Arboretum? Whatever the story, from big life milestones to small family moments, Westonbirt want to hear about them!
All photos will be used to create an online gallery on the Westonbirt website during the summer, and a select few images and their accompanying stories will be chosen for display on the summer seasonal trail!
Please send photos (the higher resolution the better) and their accompanying stories to firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 0300 067 4784 to arrange a visit to scan a non-digital photo and tell us your story. The deadline for submissions is 31 March 2019.
All photo submissions should include:
- Name (for crediting)
- Photo category
- Year the photo was taken
- Accompanying story
Further information and details of how to enter the competition can be found at https://www.forestryengland.uk/westonbirt/photosynthesis. Please read through the Terms and Conditions before sending in your photograph.
