In a triumphant return to Swindon, the acclaimed musical sensation SIX, penned by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, is set to dazzle audiences once again at the Wyvern Theatre.
Following its sold-out run in 2022, this spellbinding production returns by popular demand, promising an unforgettable experience for theatregoers.
SIX invites audiences to journey through history alongside the six wives of Henry VIII as they command the stage to share their personal narratives. Transforming centuries of heartbreak into a vibrant celebration of 21st-century girl power, the musical captivates audiences with its infectious energy and empowering message.
From its modest origins as a student production at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, SIX has risen to become a global phenomenon, garnering acclaim and recognition across the theatrical landscape. With an impressive array of accolades, including the prestigious Tony Award for ‘Best Original Score’ and ‘Best Costume Design’ on Broadway, SIX has solidified its status as a theatrical tour de force.
Honoured with double Whatsonstage Awards for ‘Best West End Show’ in 2022 and 2023, as well as a 2020 BBC Radio 2 Audience Award for ‘Best Musical,’ SIX has earned its place among the elite of the stage.
Nominated for five Olivier Awards, including ‘Best New Musical,’ the production continues to captivate audiences worldwide, with its songs amassing over 500 million streams and three billion views on TikTok.
SIX is brought to life on stage under the co-direction of Moss and Jamie Armitage. With mesmerising choreography by Carrie-Anne Ingrouille and stunning design elements by Emma Bailey (Set Design), Gabriella Slade (Costume Design), Tim Deiling (Lighting Design), and Paul Gatehouse (Sound Design), the production promises a visual and auditory feast for the senses.
Under the expert orchestrations of Tom Curran and musical supervision of Joe Beighton, SIX delivers a melodic journey that resonates with audiences long after the curtain falls. With Musical Director Caitlin Morgan and Associate UK Musical Supervisor Lauren Hopkinson at the helm, each performance is a testament to the talent and dedication of the creative team.
Swindon Wyvern Theatre Director Laura James is happy to be welcoming the Queens back to the theatre saying “We are thrilled to be welcoming the QUEENS of the Musical Theatre stage back to the Wyvern with their phenomenal performances of SIX this June.
“Their first visit to us in October 2022 was a record-breaking sell-out so don’t lose your head, book your tickets quick to experience this fierce show!”
SIX will be Divorced. Beheaded. LIVE on Swindon Wyvern’s stage from Tuesday 4th to Saturday 8th of June 2024.
