Building upon the resounding success of last year’s inaugural festival, the upcoming 2023 Paint Fest promises to surpass all expectations, making it even bigger and better.
With over 50 celebrated artists including six headline muralists of exceptional international repute gracing Swindon’s blank walls from mid-August to September, lending their talents to create awe-inspiring works, Swindon is set to be transformed into a vibrant and colourful town.
Exact locations and dates will be announced closer to the main event, which is scheduled for September 2nd and 3rd.
Who are the artists for 2023:
Hailing all the way from Spain, the dynamic duo Medianeras aims to redefine our perception of spaces through their captivating public art. Their artistic endeavors will breathe life into a uniquely shaped, expansive gable end.
Recognised as one of the Top 5 female graffiti artists by The Guardian and listed among the Top 25 female street artists worldwide according to The Huffington Post, HazardOne, a prominent figure in the UK street art scene will be bringing her vibrant color palettes, illuminating effects, and modern-age glitch techniques to create striking portraits using traditional free-hand graffiti methods to Swindon. She has taken on the challenge of transforming a significant wall in the heart of the town.
Returning to Swindon after their participation in last year’s festival, the following artists are thrilled to showcase their talents once again:
Andrew Burns Colwill offers a skilled and at times thought-provoking reflection of modern society through his works. Executed with a classical motif, refined palette, and delicate brushstrokes, his pieces serve as mirrors reflecting our own lives.
Curtis Hylton is a UK-based muralist renowned for his mastery of large-scale spray paint murals. His trademark style combines elements of nature with bird life, and his works can be admired across the UK, Europe, and internationally.
Ed Poster is a Swindon graffiti artist who has been active since 1996. Specialising in large-scale murals, detailed portraiture, and bespoke airbrush artwork, his contributions to the festival are highly anticipated.
Martin Travers is an accomplished international muralist, street artist, and visual artist. With expertise spanning various disciplines, including murals, fine art, and specialist decorative painting, his artistic prowess is unmatched.
The official main event, known as the ‘Art Hub,’ will be hosted at Artsite, where live paintings, performances, workshops, and an art exhibition will captivate visitors throughout the weekend.
