Last night marked a momentous occasion at Swindon’s Wyvern Theatre as Agatha Christie’s legendary play, “The Mousetrap,” graced its stage.
As soon as you stepped into the theatre, you were immediately immersed in the rich history and intrigue surrounding this iconic production, which has held audiences spellbound for over seven decades.

As the curtains rose, transporting the audience to the quaint Monkswell Manor amidst a snow-covered landscape, the atmosphere crackled with anticipation. The stage, meticulously crafted to evoke the post-war era, exuded an air of mystery and intrigue setting the perfect tone for an evening of mystery and suspense.
Under the spotlight, the talented cast breathed life into Christie’s beloved characters, from the endearing newlyweds Mollie and Giles Ralston, portrayed with warmth and sincerity by Hollie Sullivan and Barnaby Jago, to the eclectic ensemble of guests, each adding their own twist to the unfolding drama.
Shaun McCourt’s portrayal of the enigmatic Christopher Wren was a standout performance, injecting a delightful eccentricity into the proceedings. As the plot thickened and suspicions mounted, the audience found themselves drawn deeper into the intricate web of intrigue, eagerly piecing together clues along the way.
