A popular Swindon creative studio is preparing to welcome visitors once again as Podpadstudios launches its first open day of 2026 later this month.
The event, taking place on Friday 22 May at the Whitworth Road venue, will mark the beginning of a programme of nine open days running throughout the year ahead of September’s Swindon Open Studios weekends.
This year’s opening event has been given the theme “All Things 3-D”, with visitors promised an eclectic mix of models, props, sculpture and hands-on activities.
Among the exhibits will be Star Wars-inspired robots, Daleks and detailed scale models created by Podpadstudios co-founder Mark Enright.
Local model makers including Will Jinks and Nick Pavone will also be displaying work, alongside ceramic artist Theressa Dowdeswell and sculptor Geoff from Jan and Geoff Arts.
Visitors will also have the chance to take part in practical creative sessions including origami, pop-up card making, baskets and paper crafts led by local author and illustrator Zozo Thomas.
The event is free to attend and will also include refreshments and artwork available to purchase.
Mulberry Gardens, which adjoins the studios, will be open throughout the afternoon and evening, offering visitors a chance to relax while exploring the site.
Anna Enright, co-founder of Podpadstudios and known online as “Mrs Breaker”, said organisers were looking forward to welcoming visitors back.
“We would like to invite everyone to come along, meet the makers and talk about all things 3-D,” she said.
Podpadstudios, based at 225 Whitworth Road in Swindon, produces props and creative work for film, television and exhibitions and is run by husband-and-wife team Anna and Mark Enright.
The pair also operate popular online creative channels under the names “Master Maker” and “Mrs Breaker”, attracting more than a million views across social media platforms.
The open day takes place between 2pm and 7pm on Friday 22 May.
