With just one month to go, preparations are gathering pace for the return of Big Feastival, as thousands of festivalgoers prepare to descend on Alex James’ Cotswolds farm over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Taking place from Friday, 28 August to Sunday, 30 August, this year’s event marks the festival’s 15th anniversary and promises its biggest programme yet, combining headline music acts, celebrated chefs, comedy and family entertainment in one of the country’s best-loved summer festivals.
Leading the musical line-up are Basement Jaxx, The Streets, performing their acclaimed album A Grand Don’t Come for Free in full, and Bastille. They are joined by an impressive supporting bill including Perrie, Mimi Webb, Doves, Freya Ridings and special guests RUDIM3NTAL.
Food remains at the heart of the festival, with acclaimed chefs including Simon Rogan, Anna Haugh, Emily English, Meera Sodha, Jon Watts and Sally Abé appearing across the weekend. Popular interactive experiences such as the Chef’s Pantry, BBQ Cook School, Table Sessions and Little Cooks will also return, giving visitors the chance to get hands-on alongside some of the UK’s leading culinary names.
Comedy fans can look forward to performances from Joel Dommett, Suzi Ruffell and Ivo Graham, while younger visitors will be entertained by Justin Fletcher (Mr Tumble), MC Grammar, Nick Cope and a packed programme of family activities, including Taskmaster Live, The Traitors Improv and the K-Pop Demon Hunters Disco.
Once the sun goes down, the entertainment continues with late-night DJ sets at Alex James’ Cheese Hub, featuring appearances from Simon Pegg, Chris Stark, DJ Spoony, Sarah Story, Seb Fontaine, Tall Paul and more. Elsewhere, The Outpost will host dance favourites including Sweet Female Attitude, Fabio & Grooverider, The Allergies and Revival House Project, while The Barn, curated by Sofar Sounds, returns with an intimate showcase of emerging artists.
Held on Alex James’ farm near Kingham in the Cotswolds, Big Feastival has grown over the past 15 years into one of the UK’s premier food and music festivals, attracting visitors from across the country for its unique blend of live entertainment, award-winning cuisine and family-friendly attractions.
Organisers say camping and weekend tickets are selling quickly ahead of what is expected to be another sell-out Bank Holiday celebration.
