Music fans are being encouraged to secure their tickets soon for a major tribute concert in Swindon after organisers revealed that more than 600 tickets have already been sold.
OASIZ, widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading Oasis tribute acts, is set to perform at the Town Gardens Bowl in Old Town on Saturday 20 June, with strong demand reported ahead of the event.
The concert forms part of South Swindon Parish Council’s summer programme of live entertainment at the open-air venue, which has hosted concerts and performances for generations and remains one of the town’s most recognisable cultural attractions.
Organisers say interest in the event has been fuelled by the continuing popularity of Oasis and a renewed enthusiasm for the band’s music among fans across the country. The tribute show will feature many of the Manchester group’s best-known songs, including Wonderwall, Don’t Look Back in Anger, Live Forever and Champagne Supernova.
The performance is expected to draw audiences from across Swindon and the wider area, with the Town Gardens Bowl providing a unique outdoor setting for live music during the summer months.
Councillor John Firmin, chair of the Events Working Party at South Swindon Parish Council, said ticket sales had been particularly strong and urged anyone considering attending to book in advance.
He said the event was shaping up to be one of the most popular concerts of the season and highlighted the Town Gardens Bowl as a fantastic venue for outdoor performances.
The OASIZ concert is one of several events taking place at the Bowl this summer. The programme includes theatrical productions, tribute acts and family-friendly entertainment designed to appeal to a wide range of audiences.
Among the upcoming attractions are a performance of comedy stage show Parody of the Rings, a concert by tribute band EXTC in July and a series of children’s events at the start of the school summer holidays, including music, comedy and ballet performances aimed at younger audiences.
The varied programme reflects ongoing efforts to make the venue a focal point for community events and cultural activities throughout the summer season.
OASIZ has built a reputation on the live music circuit for recreating the sound and atmosphere of Oasis performances, attracting dedicated fans of the Britpop era as well as younger audiences discovering the band’s music for the first time.
With demand continuing to grow, organisers are advising concertgoers not to leave booking until the last minute.
The event will take place at 7.30pm on Saturday 20 June at the Town Gardens Bowl in Old Town, Swindon.
