Swindon’s Arts Centre is set to host an unmissable night of music and mayhem on Thursday 1st May 2025 when Juliette Pochin and James Morgan take to the stage with their unique brand of comedy cabaret.
Known for their work with some of the world’s most renowned orchestras, record producers, and on the soundtracks of Hollywood blockbusters, the duo are now bringing their virtuosic talents to a more light-hearted realm.
Having performed with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Pete Townshend, and Sir Bryn Terfel, as well as contributing to the soundtracks of films such as My Policeman (starring Harry Styles) and Operation Mincemeat (starring Colin Firth), Juliette and James have firmly established themselves as key figures in the classical music world. However, it is their latest venture into comedy that promises to offer something completely different.
Juliette’s creative journey into cabaret began with an unexpected catalyst: turning 50 and her daughter heading off to university. In response, Juliette jumped out of an aeroplane – literally and figuratively – and set about writing a show. After its debut at the Edinburgh Fringe, where it was hailed as Pick of the Fringe, this comedy cabaret act, with its outlandish musical mashups, comic songs, and satirical humour, has become a staple at London’s renowned Crazy Coqs.
Audiences can expect a high-energy performance featuring new original songs on everything from the joys of Prosecco to hilarious ditties about dogs. The show will also include genre-busting mashups with audience participation, musical quizzes, and, naturally, chocolate prizes for winners. For those with an intellectual itch to scratch, they’ll even attempt to take you through the entire History of Western Music in just 4 minutes—using only the medium of ABBA!
Juliette’s impressive career includes a solo album with Sony BMG, performances with leading UK orchestras, and collaborations with household names such as Meatloaf, Sir Simon Rattle, and Sir Cliff Richard. Meanwhile, James has led ensembles at prestigious venues like Glyndebourne and the English National Opera, not to mention his appearances on BBC Radio 2’s Piano Room and I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue.
If you’re looking for a night of hilarious antics, musical brilliance, and a generous helping of wit, don’t miss Juliette Pochin and James Morgan live at Swindon Arts Centre.
