Swindon based comedian Sam Michael is aiming to use laughter to raise money for a subject that is anything but a laughing matter. Shocked at the rising levels of homelessness in the country today he has linked up with Homeless Support Stand Up Project to bring a comedy night to Swindon. The event takes place at The Tuppenny in Old Town on Monday 3rd December and brings together a host of national circuit comedians and competition winning acts.
All money raised will be split 50/50 between Threshold Housing Link Swindon, who work hard to house the homeless and vulnerable of the town and Christmas Care Swindon who provide food, warmth, company and temporary shelter for homeless and lonely people over the festive period in Swindon.
Under the watchful eye of compere Alex Farrow, who the Oxford Mail described as “Jaw achingly funny” you will find the night spearheaded by Morgan Rees and Chelsea Birkby, both finalist in recent years of New Comedian of the Year and 2017 Chortle Student Comedian Of The Year Winner Riordan DJ. Also on the bill is Radio 2 regular Ed Pownall plus Eliza Fraser, Bahkai Wynter and Laura Ollerton.
So if you want to have a great night out whilst raising money for the best of local causes then mark this one in the diary
